Broken Tooth
Even though none of us ever expect to break a tooth, accidents sometimes happen. There are a few steps you can take to help preserve your tooth, but the most important thing to remember is to contact our office as soon as possible to schedule an emergency visit.
If your tooth chips, save the broken piece if at all possible. Place it in a baggie with a bit of moisture (milk works well), and bring it with you to our office. In some cases, the chipped piece can be reattached to your tooth by etching both the existing tooth and the chipped piece and using dental adhesive to attach them to each other. In other cases, bonding might be necessary. The worst case scenario is when the tooth is no longer salvageable and should be expertly removed. Remember, this can often be avoided if you visit our office quickly so as to prevent permanent nerve damage to the tooth.
Regardless of which interventions are necessary, the professional team at Exclusive Dental Practice will always make the least invasive and most cost-effective treatment recommendations, explain your options and keep you comfortable throughout any procedures.
If you find yourself with a broken tooth, call Exclusive Dental Practice without hesitation. We accept most insurance plans, and same day appointments are often available for emergencies.
